Dressage Teams
It seems
looking out of the window while rubbing my weekend sunburned arms; that summer is finally here! And what a busy lead up to the Summer Season the Dressage Teams have had. There have been the Evening GIG Sessions which you will see a little later in the Newsletter from Rebecca Robinson, which I understand have proven popular as ever. Nicky Jarmain and Sarah Anderson have been organising lots of additional training for us in the lead up to the Qualifier Seasons and we have had the Dressage To Music (DTM), Grassroots Dressage Event and the Summer Dressage Qualifiers. Coupled with the Combined Training Qualifiers in April, it has been a busy few months.
The full results are all posted on the HDRC Website, and the Area Website (www.britishridingclubsarea7.com) so I will not go through them all again, but we have many of our members hopefully off to the Lincoln Nationals in September (subject to confirmation by BRC).
The judging format for Riding Test will be changing for all Riding Test Classes next year, and they will be utilising the new marking and scoring system at Lincoln this Championship. I will be working with the Qualifying teams to run through the new format with them ahead of the Championships, and will be working with Sarah and Nicky to run some information sessions over the Winter when the weather is not so great. I believe the changes to the scoring system (5 criteria now rather than a mark per movement) will help to give a clearer picture between a Riding Test and a Dressage Test, and I hope I can encourage some more of you to come and have a go.
Have a great summer all, and I will no doubt see most of you out and about in the next few weeks.
